How “Run for a Reason” marathon programs work and why I chose one
Doing a lot of firsts this year: first major fundraiser AND first marathon. There’s a lot to learn on both sides, but “Run for a Reason” can help bridge the gap.

How often can you really train on cardio equipment vs outdoor runs and be fit enough for a marathon?
Familiarity, circumstances, and timing usually have me stick with the elliptical… but I’ll have to spend time on the real road eventually.

Expanding on existing passions and exploring new ones…
What are you passionate about? My passion has dwindled a bit over time, but finding a way to use it with a new passion has resurrected it all over again… and it may keep expanding.

Usually by now I would’ve quit these goals of mine, but something has changed…
What is this shift in mindset, opportunity, timing, etc. that’s letting me continue on when I’ve tried and failed dozens of times before? Why is it different this time? What changed?

Finding the balance: Sleep, Nutrition, & Exercise
When all 3 elements are being worked on, my chances of success have increased and I was actually able to drop pounds, be more alert, have more energy… all those good things. It’s a definite cycle where they help each other out.

Expanding my vegetarian palate with a very limited budget (and limited taste experience).
Gave away a bunch of the meat I still had in my freezer to my neighbor. I gotta figure out this vegetarian plan sooner rather than later, and eventually my budget.

It’s true what they say when it comes to making habits: consistency is key… and being honest with yourself.
