As a Rockets fan my whole life, I was very disappointed that they lost to the Warriors in the 7th game of their playoff run. However, I have to give props where it’s due… both teams played very well for most of those games. The Rockets didn’t get shut down in 4 like the Grizzlies did against the Thunder, so there’s that.

The Warriors managed to make it to Game 5 against the Timberwolves before they lost in that late game. As someone who only had the Rockets on my radar, I hadn’t paid much attention to the Timberwolves, but I’m impressed at what I was able to see out of them.

Of course, there are gonna be so many naysayers complaining that the only reason they won was Stephen Curry wasn’t available for recent games due to injury. Yet, there is a massive amount of talent on the Warriors’ squad, which was shown against the Rockets several times before the end. Butler, Draymond Green, Hield… those guys gave the Rockets plenty to work against.

I admit, I’m disappointed mostly because I really hoped we’d get to compete with the Oklahoma City Thunder again, because all those previous matchups this season were exciting. We won some, they won some, and I was curious how it would’ve turned out.

Guess we’ll have to wait til next year on that one.

Now I wonder if it’s gonna be the Thunder vs. the Timberwolves next (but it looks like we’ll need a few more days to be sure). I admit I’d like to see the Thunder get the spot over the Nuggets. The Thunder held onto the No. 1 position for so long this season, and though I usually root for the “underdog” on principle, even my Rockets at No. 2 were dozens of wins behind them.

It’s gonna be an interesting few weeks.
